Ankara 1st day of 2nd Grade!!!

This cute little Monkey can NOT be in 2nd grade! Where does the time go?

Sweet Ankara started 2nd grade today! She was nervous and excited! She had her new lunchbox her Daddy picked out...and an apple for the teacher...and she was OFF!! Love that Monkey! And I'm going to miss her all day....9-4 is a really long day!

Sunday

Today we took a short trip to Chatfield to look for fish....see Ankara and Ellie participated in a Nature Camp this past week at Waterton Canyon. They had a really great time. Except for the pond day. Okay, they liked the pond day, but were very bummed that they didn't catch anything. So they asked their daddy to take them back this weekend and look for something. They wanted me to go during the week, but lets be honest, I wouldn't have wanted to touch anything! ;)
Today Shane and the girls played in the lake and we came home with 2 crawdads, 2 itty bitty fish, and 2 small snails. They are currently living in a nice little fish tank on the counter. The crawdads have eaten the fish, and the snails probably won't last that long. BUT, the girls are happy. And I suppose, that's the biggest goal!

We've been busy. Okay, so I say that everytime. And I am sure EVERYONE is busy....
Every weekend we are either out or working on our back yard. Completely re-doing it. More patio, new playground area, new grass, and on and on. But, regardless of all the work we still have time for all the fun of summer! Lots of fun in the sun, and playing around. Below is a movie of pictures, just a few of the last couple of weeks....complete with our newest member of our house, a hot water heater. Stupid stupid hot water heater.

Ellie Bellie is a goof ball. So stinkin' cute!
She decided she wanted to play soccer with her best little buddy Maile, so we signed her up! She loves it, and is getting the hang of it!

Also, below is a video of her hula-hooping. She finally can do it. BUT, she has to be running to do it. She can't stand still and hula-hoop.....it's hilarious!

Weekend Trip to Nebraska

This past weekend we made a trip to Nebraska. The girls love visiting Nebraska. We had a great time, even though it was a super short weekend. The 1st video is a movie of a few of the pictures I took. The second, is a video of Ankara and Braydon being ever so talented...... ;)

Sunday bike ride

We decided to take a trip to Waterton Canyon for a Sunday Bike Ride. Ankara still needs lots of practice, and instead of standing around watching, we wanted to ride with her while she practiced. We hooked up the tag-a-long bike for Ellie, and prepped nervous Ankara.
She took a while to get warmed up, but was cruising along in the end.
Below are pictures of them all riding, the deer on the trail, and our stop to skip rocks. Ankara asked me to make a short video of her riding to show the world. The quality isn't the best. I am riding my bike, trying to hold the camera, and more importantly NOT crash! She did fantastic!
